A mature bald eagle comes in for a landing near a fish it caught Friday in the Yellowstone River near Hayden Valley in Yellowstone National Park Friday. The eagle had dropped the trout and a large raven took the opportunity to get a couple quick nibbles. As the eagle came in with talons and wings fully extended, the raven made a quick getaway without the trout. Once endangered by hunting and pesticides, bald eagles have flourished under federal protections.
