Dear editor:
In the May 8 Laramie Boomerang, Rep. J.D. Williams urged citizens to get involved in the Wyoming Republican Party, comparing its current path to a vehicle hitting rumble strips — a warning to adjust course.
Here in Park County, Republicans hold a wide range of views. But whether you’re satisfied with the local GOP’s direction or want change, the best way to make an impact is to serve as a precinct committeeperson. These positions set the tone for county and state leadership, and are also responsible for selecting replacements for elected county officials in times of vacancy.
Filing is open May 14-29, with the Primary Election on Aug. 18. There’s no fee — just be 18, registered in your precinct, and submit a simple form to the county clerk. Because elections are unified in Wyoming — it’s the same form no matter which county you live in.
If you want your voice heard, now is the time! Get all of the information you need to get on the ballot at the county clerk’s election office.
Very truly,
Jennifer R. Lohrenz
