Letter to the editor:

When is a protest not a protest?

Posted

Dear editor:

This is in response to a letter to the editor in the Thursday, Oct. 23 edition of the Powell Tribune entitled “What’s more un-American?  Protests or Presidents? The letter is written to espouse the recent “protests” of “No Kings."

The notion of “No Kings” with respect to our President Trump is completely laughable. There is just no evidence of President Trump acting as a king. He has made no overture to abridge the guarantees in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Our court system routinely upholds his actions. A “king” would abolish ALL of that.

Secondly, paid protesters are not protesters; they are actors reading from a provided script. All 55 (facetious) unpaid protesters should be heard if they can truly justify their action.

This “No Kings” ploy is just another in the left/dem playbook, since the terms fascist, homophobe, misogynist, Hitler, et al being applied to Trump have been worn out by these leftist mouthpieces. The meme of Trump dropping excrement on the protesters is actually symbolic of the “No Kings” excrement spewed by those leftists.

Sincerely,

Bob and Linda Graff
