Dear editor:
I called Wyoming’s three federal officeholders telling them to stop Trump’s crude, unjustified claims to acquire Greenland and its rare earth minerals. Trump’s reasons include that other countries will attack first, our national security requires it and to protect the American homeland. Russia, China and North Korea make similar, perhaps stronger claims about Ukraine, Taiwan and South Korea. Endless wars or conflicts seem inevitable with Trump and his MAGA supporters.
I reminded them that we already have a military base in Greenland, which can be upgraded, and if Greenland gets attacked the United States has promised for decades, in written guarantees, to defend it and its people. Stop threatening and attacking our allies.
I said Congress must represent the American people — not just Trump, not just MAGA, not just the Republican Party. On the world stage, Trump’s tyrannical words, imperialistic policies and heartless actions represent all Americans.
