Dear editor:
We wish to thank everyone for financial support and goodies that we can now again send to deployed troops. We had two years off but are now up and packing boxes/sending to the deployed men and women of the northeast corner of the Big Horn Basin. Troop Support started in 2003 and now we are at 19 years of service to our soldiers.
First: Thank you Tyler for working on the derby car that was donated to you, and setting up the raffle at the Park County Fair. Tyler wanted to help us because he was gifted with packages when deployed. The car was raffled off and Tyler went over his goal of $1,000, with Justin and William helping on the car, Dustin Short making a banner, and Don and Lori hustling on selling the tickets at the demolition derby in the stands. Also many donations and sales of our goodies especially the DUCK! This year we added decals; these are not stickers, they are real decals made in the USA.
Second: Thanks for the support through craft fair sales I have been attending.
Third: Thanks for Christmas, when Parkside School, the SLC, and the Lohrenz family (for homemade goodies) came through with extra supplies to top off the boxes after we went out and purchased supplies. We mailed out two boxes each to 21 deployed men and women the first of December with the help of Lori, Mitzi, Tab, Ann and the Grinch.
Coming the end of December, we are looking to add nine soldiers and then in February two more, so we are back to supporting our troops with goodies from home. If anyone has a deployed soldier in harm’s way, please get their address to us so they can be included in our mailings. Either drop off their address to Ann at H&R Block in Powell or text to Bon at 307-272-5172. If you would like to donate fund or goodies for the boxes. please drop off at H&R or at Bon’s house (1054 Road 9).
Ann and I are very blessed to have the Big Horn Basin’s community support of our organization in the past and now present. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Bonny Rouse
