Sonya Marie Hall, born on Nov. 7, 1936, in Powell, Wyoming, passed away on Jan. 14, 2025, at Spirit Mountain Hospice in Cody, Wyoming. She leaves behind a legacy marked by love, dedication, and a deeply rooted connection to her family and community.
A devoted farm wife, Sonya embraced the challenges and joys of rural life with grace and resilience. Throughout her years, she nurtured not only her family but also her interests in knitting, quilting, gardening and playing cards. These hobbies brought her joy, and her creations became cherished gifts for those around her.
Sonya’s proudest accomplishment was marrying the love of her life, Ral Hall, on Dec. 29, 1956, in Powell, Wyoming. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with family and shared experiences. Ral William Hall, her beloved husband, preceded her in death, leaving a void that will be felt by all who knew them as a couple.
She is survived by her devoted family: her son Jeff Hall, his wife Brenda Hall; her son Todd Hall and his wife Audrey Hall; her daughter Shannon Draper and her husband Guy Draper; and her daughter Toni Miller and her husband Dave Miller; along with her sister Ardith Gallup. Additionally, Sonya is blessed with 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She was preceded in death by her sister Lorraine Muecke, her father Fred Weitkamp and her mother Anna Obermeyer.
Services will be held later this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Powell Senior Center.
