On Jan. 10, 2026, Rose Coles passed away at Evergreen Rehab in Clancy, Montana, from cancer.

Rose was born in Powell, Wyoming, on Dec. 14, 1956, to Percy and Wilma Coles of Deaver, Wyoming. Rose grew up on a farm and graduated from Deaver High School in 1977. After graduation, Rose went to Cheyenne. From there after a short time she moved to Cody, Wyoming, and worked at Country Kitchen. Rose later moved to Sheridan, Wyoming, where she was a kitchen helper in a nursing home.

Rose was involved in a very bad accident about 30 years ago and was life flighted to Billings, Montana. This changed her life. But God gave her more good years. She was in a nursing home in Columbus, Montana, for a year, from there she became strong enough to go to assisted living in Helena, Montana, close to her sister, then on to independent living. After a knee replacement and a fractured ankle she needed more physical therapy and help, so in 2019 she chose to stay at the rehab in Clancy where she enjoyed the last seven years of her life.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents Percy and Wilma Coles, all grandparents, and her nephews Benjamin and Bert Hansen. She is survived by her brothers Randy and Lloyd of Deaver, her sister June of Deaver, her nephew Ben Hansen of Deaver, her niece Robin Hansen, along with Robin’s son Andrew and wife Hallie, Nicole Hansen of Great Falls, Montana, niece Madison Conly in Hawaii, and niece Cheyenne HansenTighe, who helped her so much and became very close to Rose over the last three years.

A memorial will be held in June.
