Rhonda Lea Lynam, 62, of Powell, Wyoming, left this world on May 27, 2026, in the home she shared with her youngest son’s family. She was surrounded by peace — her family and a dear friend Amy Hebbler — kept a loving vigil through the night, holding her hand, sharing stories, and whispering their love as she peacefully slipped away.
The hole she leaves behind is impossible to put into words. Rhonda wasn’t just a mother, grandmother, daughter or sister — she was the heart of our family, and many others, She was the one we all ran to when life got heavy. The one who always seemed to have the right words, the strongest hug, and the steady wisdom we needed. Now that steady light is gone, and we are truly lost without her.
Born on Nov. 4, 1963, in the small town of Worland, Wyoming, Rhonda was a proud, simple country girl through and through. She carried that honest, hardworking spirit with her every day of her life. Few people worked as hard as Rhonda. She juggled multiple jobs without complaint and never once shied away from doing what needed to be done. But her greatest love — the one that defined her — was her family. She loved us fiercely, protectively and completely. She would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation, and found herself in between a rock and a hard place because of it many times.
Her faith in God never wavered, even when her body grew tired and her illness became more aggressive. She faced it all with quiet strength and optimism.
Rhonda found her greatest joys in life’s simple pleasures: sitting by the water fishing, long drives down familiar roads, camping under the stars, firing up the grill for a barbecue, cuddling with her cats or any animal, and never going too long without her beloved Diet Coke (which she swore was what really kept her going). She had a way of turning ordinary moments into memories we’ll treasure forever.
She is survived by her three children, who were her greatest pride: Jeffrey (Andrea) Eastman, Jenny (Michael) Sobec and Jason (Auberdee) Eastman. She is also survived by her mother, Kay Beall; her brother, Bob McCoy; and her cherished grandchildren: Deacon, Parker, Marly and Mykah Eastman; Dillin Weimer and Taylor Johnson; Alice, Copper and Quentin Eastman; Douglas, Destiny, Abigail, Shannon and Nathaniel. She leaves behind many dear friends and extended family who have all shown their love for her in preparations for her Celebration of Life.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her fathers, Walter Lynam and Robert Beall; her brother, Jerry Lynam; and her precious grandson, Hayden Weimer, who we believe was waiting with open arms to welcome her home.
Rhonda’s warm heart, unbreakable spirit, and endless generosity touched every life she entered. She was our rock, our safe place, and our biggest cheerleader. Though she is gone from our sight, she will live forever in our hearts. We will miss her every single day until we see her again.
A graveside burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 13 at the Deaver-Frannie Cemetery 205 Lane 7 1/2. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1 p.m. at the American Legion in Powell, where we will eat, tell stories, laugh through our tears, and give Rhonda one last “hoorah.”
