Dear editor:
I would like to just voice more of an opinion than news, but that lady living in the retirement home who is 69, gets in trouble for possessing a “dangerous” drug. I’m confused on why the police would drive around looking for her vehicle and wasting taxpayers’ money for a nonviolent misdemeanor offense. That poor lady is just minding her business and not causing the community any harm. Police should be protecting the community and I feel that was a complete waste of time. I’m not sure why the State of Wyoming believes it’s protecting and serving the citizens of this great state, while going after a 69-year-old woman, and going after a plant.
Wyoming could truly benefit from all the revenue that regulated, and taxed marijuana could bring to this state. I’m a proud conservative who votes but it’s becoming increasingly obvious that marijuana isn’t the issue, the stigma behind it harms more people than anything. I know the paper just reports what’s going on, but I can’t be the only one around the area that thinks this isn’t right and makes the police department look ridiculous.
