Dear editor:
As a Park County commissioner, I am concerned with the direction the Development Standards and Regulations for Park County are proceeding. As your commissioner I will listen to what the people want, but I cannot do this without your involvement. Adopting the Land Use Plan was just the first step; the most important part of the process is just beginning. Please take the time to read the proposed regulations, attend the public meetings, take the surveys and express your opinion now.
If you wait until you are affected by the new rules, then it will be too late. Stay involved and don’t sit by and let the opinions of government, a few residents and an out of state consultant make the decisions for you. Now is the time to decide how much government oversight and regulations are necessary for responsible development of your private property in Park County. The round one proposed regulation changes are currently on the Park County website at parkcounty-wy.gov/. Read them, remain engaged and speak up before it is too late.
Lloyd Thiel
Park County commissioner
