Parents, know your kids are watching you

Dear editor:

Parents did you know?

There are little ones who watch your every movement.

They see the clothes you wear, the words you use each day.

They watch your response to various situations.

They wonder why you go or not to work each day.

They ponder how you treat the people in the world around you.

Parents did you know?

That the most important lessons learned are at home.

That you are the biggest thing in the world of your family.

That you set the mode of how these little ones will treat you.

That your example is paramount to the entirety of their lives.

That without your daily instruction, others 'will' teach them.

Parents did you know?

When you were young the same things were important.

Do you recall a day you knew that your parent loved you?

Do have fond memories of laughing with your family?

Do remember safety and falling fast asleep without a care?

Were you fed, were you clothed, were you hugged each night, each morning?

Children are not pets. Children are not status symbols.

Children are a blessing from your Heavenly Father.

Children are not autonomous out of the womb, they need love, training and parenting.

Children are greatly influenced their first five years and need to know the difference between right and wrong.

Children do mimic and absorb all that is around them — both good and bad.

Parents are there to teach them the difference.

If you are or about to become a parent, remember this is the most important job in the world.
