The Powell High School boys’ and girls’ soccer teams fell in Cody on Tuesday night, as the Panther girls lost a close 3-2 game while the boys fell 7-0 to the host Broncs.
In a back-and-forth contest the Panther girls were tied 1-1 at halftime against the Fillies, and took a 2-1 lead early in the second half.
However, Cody scored on a headed goal off a corner kick and a penalty kick midway through the second half to hand the Panthers their first loss of the season and move them to 4-1 in conference play midway through the year.
The Panther boys trailed 2-0 at the half against the Broncs before a flurry of goals in a 15 minute span in the second half saw the hosts pull away for good 7-0.
That loss dropped the boys’ team to 2-3 in conference play midway through the season.
