The Powell High School volleyball team swept the Bobcats on Tuesday during a quick trip to 2A Thermopolis in a nonconference matchup.
Overcoming a slow start in the first set, the Panthers (15-9 overall, 2-0 3A West) held on late and won the final two points against the Bobcats (3-17) to earn a 25-23 win when the hosts couldn’t return a Kaedenze Carter serve.
Powell capitalized on that late momentum, and rode it to a 25-12 second set win capped off by a Peyton Ott kill.
The Panthers ended the third set with a Lucy Ostermiller serve, which wasn’t returned en route to a 25-16 win to earn the sweep.
Powell returns a bit closer to home today (Thursday) as the Panthers head to Lovell at 6 p.m. for an important conference matchup against the Bulldogs (16-1 overall, 2-0 3A West).
