Athletes of all ages converged on the Powell Aquatic Center to take part in the PAC Triathlon on Memorial Day weekend, as 35 athletes completed the May 24 event as part of teams or individuals.
Overall winners for the event were Kinley Bollinger for the women’s race, finishing in 1 hour, 8 minutes and 8 seconds with the top time for the entire event; Arthur Thompson took the top spot in the men’s race with a time of 1 hour, 13 minutes and 57 seconds, while the team title went to the trio of Jake Williams, Bridget Williams and Molly Zeller with a time of 1 hour, 23 minutes and 46 seconds.
In the women’s race additional finishers included Sarah Spini taking first in the 20 and under category with a time of 1:27.44; Melissa Merritt was second with a time of 1:28 and Kaitlin Diver was third with a time of 1:50.38.
Becky Burbank was first in the 36-40 division with a 1:45.25; Kristin Thompson was first in the 41-45 division with a 1:51.16 and Jen Robertus was first in the women’s 46-49 with a 1:23.24.
In the men’s division, the youngest competitor was Tobyn Jordan at 11 years old, finishing first in the 20 and under category with a 1:31.42 while Zachary Thompson was second in the 20 and under age group with a 1:45.14.
Jayden Koon was first in the 21-25 division with a 1:18.33; Field Soosloff was second with a 1:34.5; Dan Lavy was first in the 26-30 division with a 1:16.24; Jeron Smith was second with a 1:25.46 and Carter Baxter was third with a 1:30; Michael Cooper was first in the 31-35 division with a time of 2:07.2; Garrett Burbank was first in the 36-40 division with a time of 1:33.25; Rich Stearns was first in the 51-59 division with a 1:56.41; Adam Sutcliffe was first in the 60-69 division with a time of 1:27.59; Jim Thomas-DeJongh placed first in the men’s 70-plus division with a time of 1:34.02 while John Housel was second with a 1:45.31.
In the Co-Ed team divisions, the second place team was comprised of Carter Kruger, Tyler Kruger and Anyston Keller with a time of 1:25.18; Kitrie Frank and Jason Frank were third with a time of 1:29.36 while the team of Kyler Warren, Kate Miller and Richie Waley was fourth with a time of 1:48.
The lone men’s team consisted of Camden Killian, Hunter Christner and James Malone with a time of 1:30.45.
Event director Tanya Bonner said that most of the competitors hailed from Powell or as far as Billings, along with one competitor from Longmont, Colorado.
