Heading into Montana for the second rodeo of the season, Northwest College placed one contestant in Glendive, as the Trappers fought against the weather at the Dawson Community College rodeo.
“It was a dirty, wet run on the last day,” coach Del Nose said. “Things kinda fell apart for us in the short go … That’s not an excuse because everybody had to go through it … We didn’t capitalize on what we had going.”
The Trappers’ lone placement came from a cowboy, as Rilee Fisher tied for third in the tie down roping with a time of 29.2 seconds.
“All in all we did have a good rodeo,” Nose said.
Two more weeks remain in the fall season before the winter weather settles in, as the Trappers head back into Montana to Dillon to take part in the rodeo at the University of Montana-Western at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
“We’re heading to Dillon and hoping things turn out better,” Nose said. “We’re practicing hard and doing our thing. Kids are responding, if we hit on all cylinders we will do well.”
