Margie Beatrice (Edwards) Sheppard passed away May 14, 2024 at Beartooth Billings Clinic in Red Lodge, Montana.
Margie was born Jan. 24, 1928 to Margie and Josiah Edwards. She was raised on a ranch in northwestern Colorado by her mother, Margie and her stepfather I. J. Shelton.
Margie had an incredible life filled with many adventures, from learning to fly in Alaska, fishing in Argentina, to buying gems in Kenya and Hong Kong. She and Shep went on photo safari in Africa, toured the pyramids and the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, traveled to Russia, China and the British Isles. Her biggest and most favorite adventure, though, was raising three children alongside her Shep and being a grandmother.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Virgil (Shep) Sheppard, one sister and two brothers. She is survived by children, Robert (Sharyl) Sheppard, Carol Souders, Helen (Bill) Hutson, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three brothers, and one sister.
The family would like to thank the staff at Beartooth Billings Clinic for their kind care of Margie in her final days. The family would especially like to thank Margie’s caregivers, Debbie and Sherrill, who gave her many years at home and who she loved like family. We are eternally grateful for the love and care the gave her.
