Ronald Wynn Kapalka was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Dec. 19, 1946 to Donald Edward Kapalka and Virginia Wynn Kapalka. Ron’s family moved to Texas in 1954. He grew up in Fort Worth, graduated from high school there in 1964 and then from Texas Tech University in 1970.

Ron worked for Bureau of Indian Affairs in Billings, Montana before entering ministry in 1982. He married Nancy Langstaff and they had their daughters while serving in Denton, Montana. After Powell, Wyoming and Billings, Montana, churches, he retired.

Ron pastored as an interim at Cascade, Montana, Lewistown/Winifred, Montana, Glasgow/Hinsdale, Montana and Laurel, Montana. Full retirement was in Billings in 2016. Ron went home to the Lord on Aug. 14, 2024, with his loving wife by his side. He is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter Ginger Montalvo (Stephen) and grandsons Vincent and Julian of Lakewood, Washington, daughter Mandy Madler (Nick) and grandson Lyle of Billings, Montana, and sister Virginia Thomson (Bill) of Grand Prairie, Texas.
