Dear editor:
It is rare that I feel compelled to write a letter to the editor; however, a recent and serious medical experience prompts me to do so. I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional professionalism, skill, and compassionate care I received at Powell Valley Hospital.
Throughout my 15-day hospital stay, every member of the staff — including environmental services, food services and health care professionals — demonstrated unwavering dedication to my well-being and recovery. Their efforts were thorough, attentive and consistently reassuring. I am not convinced that the care I received could have been surpassed at a larger medical center.
While there are circumstances in which seeking care in a large city may be appropriate, our community should be genuinely grateful for the high-quality medical services provided locally.
Often, patients are drawn elsewhere by the assumption that larger institutions offer superior care.
My experience proves that this is not the case with Powell Valley Hospital and Powell Valley Healthcare. I entrusted my life to their care and was met with excellence at every level.
Respectfully,
Keith L. Eden
