James Fredrick Baird, age 82, a beloved member of the Red Lodge community, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, with his children by his side.

Born in Powell, Wyoming, Jim grew up to marry his high school sweetheart, Glenda. He attended the University of Nebraska, where he earned his degree in pharmacy. Over 55 years ago, Jim and Glenda moved to Red Lodge to start their family and opened Red Lodge Drug. Jim was later joined by his good friend and fellow pharmacist, Bob Tirrell, and together they built a business that the community affectionately dubbed “Jim Bob’s.” Jim spent his career there as a dedicated pharmacist, deeply committed to caring for others. He was known by all as a smart, soft-spoken man with a genuinely good heart.

Jim and Glenda were active and dedicated members of the Calvary Episcopal Church, and the community remained close to their hearts throughout their lives. Outside of work, Jim was an avid golfer and a passionate sports fan, fiercely cheering on his beloved Nebraska Huskers, Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Chargers. Jim and Glenda loved traveling and sharing beautiful memories together until Glenda preceded him in death in 2020. Above all, family was their greatest joy. They hosted many unforgettable Fourth of July celebrations, creating a welcoming home filled with laughter and togetherness for their children and grandkids.

He is survived by his children, Brian, Laura and Amy, his cherished grandchildren, and a wide circle of extended family and close friends who loved him dearly.

Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A service and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
