Georg Trosper, 78, of Cody, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Feb. 3, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.
Georg was born on April 5, 1947, in Riverton, Wyoming, to Tony and Marie Trosper, and graduated from Riverton High School in 1966.
A dedicated professional, Georg was owner and operator of Riverview Honey, followed by his career in the oil and gas industry, as field automation with Amoco and British Petroleum (BP), which he retired from in 2003. His work ethic and quiet integrity earned him the respect of colleagues throughout his career. In later years, Georg drove a school bus for the Valley School children of Cody — a job he loved dearly. The kids brought him joy, and he took pride in being a familiar, steady presence in their daily lives.
Georg met his loving wife, Ann, in high school and they were married for 57 beautiful years. They adopted Sunny and Ti in 1987 from Seoul, Korea, and together they built a loving home and a life rich with family, friendship and faith.
Georg was a man of few words, but the words he offered were worth waiting for — often delivered with the dry humor that delighted his family and friends. He didn’t need to say much; his presence, his steadiness, and his quiet way of showing up for the people he loved said everything.
He was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Cody and took pride in being part of the community. Georg believed in showing up — for his neighbors, his church and his town.
Georg found deep joy in the simple and good things in life. He loved building and flying RC aircraft, playing golf and cheering on his favorite football teams. The outdoors called to him, whether he was hiking through Wyoming’s mountains or standing in a river with a fly rod in hand. He and Ann shared a love of travel, with their cruises to Alaska among their most treasured adventures. And Georg never turned down an opportunity to gather around a table with people he cared about, enjoying good food, good drink and good company.
Above all, Georg treasured his family. He was a loving husband to Ann, a devoted father to Sunny and Ti, and a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, as his family was his greatest joy.
Georg was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Quinn, and his brother, Ed Trosper.
He is survived by his beloved wife Ann Trosper of Cody, Wyoming; daughter Sunny Moncier, her husband James of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Ti Trosper, her partner Clint Troxel, and his two children, of San Diego, California; niece Holly Braaten, her husband Tom, and their four children.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Spirit Mountain Hospice of Cody, Wyoming.
Georg lived a full and faithful life. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026 at 10 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church 3401 Sheridan Ave. Cody, Wyoming.
