Eric Howard Loloff was born to Dorothy (Erickson) Loloff and Howard Gus Loloff on April 26, 1946 in Greeley, Colorado. Eric had one older sibling, Muriel (Loloff) Brown, and numerous cousins. He grew up in Kersey, Colorado, where Eric helped his grandfather Gus farm the land of the Loloff family homestead.

Eric loved his family, horses, dogs, birds, adventures and guns from an early age and appreciated farm and ranch life in the West. In high school his family moved to Greeley, Colorado, where he graduated from Greeley Central High School. His junior year he met his wife Luanne (Larkins) Loloff whom he later married in 1966.

Eric’s first daughter Wendy Loloff (Cooper) was born while Eric and Luanne were attending college. Eric graduated from Colorado State University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, specializing in Animal Science and Agronomy. Second daughter, Erica Michelle Loloff, was born in 1971, shortly before Eric accepted a job with the Adolph Coors Company to start a barley field program in northwest Wyoming.

Eric and Luanne moved their family to Cody, Wyoming, and found a hunting, fishing, farm and ranch paradise and numerous friends at the Cody Missionary Alliance Church. During the early years in Wyoming, Eric became an avid hunter and fisherman as the men at the church introduced him to the Absaroka Range. Eric grew up riding horses, even saddle broncs in the rodeos and always had horses no matter his age. Eric’s biggest passion was horses and he enjoyed taking the family on trail rides along with attending horse events, even a covered wagon excursion with Luanne celebrating 100 years of the Wyoming Centennial. Eric introduced his daughters to 4-H along with having animals on the farm so that they too could appreciate taking care of animals.

The family eventually moved from Cody to Powell where third daughter Kara Loloff (Vandas) was born. Eric stayed in agri-business related pursuits and land management his entire career; starting a barley field program, managing a feedlot, heading up and becoming the VP of Ag Lending at First National Bank, serving on Ag advisory boards and as president of the Park County Fair Board, and eventually starting Running Horse Realty with his wife, Luanne. Eric was known as “The Land Man,” and specialized in farm and ranch properties as a broker in Wyoming and Montana. Daughter, Erica Loloff, managed the business for close to 18 years alongside her parents.

Helping others succeed in life and business, and cheering them on was Eric’s pure joy and motivation. Everywhere Eric went he brought with him his smile, friendship, a handshake and his belief in God to share. Eric had many long-term friends who meant the world to him. Eric’s lifelong commitment to his family never ceased.

Eric and Luanne spent winters in Wickenburg, Arizona, for the past 10 years where Eric enjoyed riding horses, feeding birds and rabbits, going to garage sales and attending and speaking at the Cowboy Church and Rancho Rio. Eric met Jesus and passed from this life to his new heavenly home on May 9, 2025 surrounded by his wife, daughters, grandsons and nephew.

Eric is survived by his wife of 59 years, Luanne Loloff, daughters Wendy Loloff Cooper (Bryan Cooper, Kyle and Jared Cooper), Erica Loloff, Kara Loloff Vandas and Lori Knisely, sister Muriel Brown, grandchildren Jackson, Josiah and Ellianna Piersee and Myer Vandas, nieces Beth Ann Brown Provenzano (Kiley Provenzano Wyatt and Trent Provenzano) and Jennifer Brown Dylewski (Dylan and Matt Dylewski) and nephew Kevin Thompson.

Celebration of Life services for Eric Howard Loloff were held in Castle Rock, Colorado, on June 21, 2025 and will be held in Ralston, Wyoming, on July 19, 2025 at the Jake Clark’s Mule Days Barn Arena at 10 a.m. Any donations may be given directly to New Life Church in Powell, WY. newlifepowell.com/giving.
