Eddie Allen Tollman

Ed A. Tollman passed away March 18, 2022, in Anchorage, Alaska, after a short illness. Ed was born in Lusk, Wyoming, on Feb. 6, 1944, to Charles and Florence Tollman. 

He attended grade school in Lance Creek and Thermopolis, Wyoming. His family moved to Powell in 1956, where he finished his schooling, graduating from Powell High School in 1962. He married Judy Rickard in 1965 and they moved to Glennallen, Alaska, in 1966, when Judy got a teaching job in Glennallen. Ed and Judy raised three children in Glennallen. Ed and Judy later divorced.

Ed went to work with Copper Valley Construction in Glennallen, and was joined by his brother Jerry in 1972. His work took him all over Alaska and he never got tired of all the challenges the Alaskan bush presented. He served on the Copper Valley School Board for a number of years. He completed his working career with Peak Construction on the North Slope in 2020. Ed loved Alaska and the many adventures he experienced there. He was always looking forward to the next adventure, whether it was work or play.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sandra, and brother Jerry. 

He is survived by his son Dan of Sedona, Arizona; daughters Suzy Rhodes (Chris) of Glennallen, Alaska; Casey Tollman of Honolulu, Hawaii; grandson Jody; granddaughter Julia; great-grandson Chris of Glennallen; and his brother Ray (Vicki) of Powell.

A memorial service was held March 26, 2022, at the Glennallen School.
