On March 22, 2024, Samuel C Woods Jr. (Sam) died in Powell, Wyoming of cancer. He was 65 years old.
Sam was born on Feb. 7, 1959, in St. Helena, California. Sam spent several years working as a pressman for newspapers at “The Times Herald” in Vallejo California and “The Napa Valley Register” in Napa, California. He was also quite the handyman, having several jobs as an engineer, chief engineer and director of engineering in hospitality at Aegis Living and Andaz Napa (formally Avia). After moving from Napa, California to Powell, Wyoming, he worked at Ace Hardware giving his knowledge to anyone in need.
Sam was known for being a father and guider to everyone who met him. He always kept the energy in the room light with his jokes and humorous personality. He was fun to work with and a favorite coworker to many. Sam loved working on projects around the home, especially his cars. He tried to share what he had learned in his life with his wife and children, making sure they could continue on when he no longer was able to. Sam was deeply loved and will be missed dearly.
His absence will be felt for years to come.
Sam is survived by his wife, Anna Alley; his children, Christopher Woods, Addam Woods, Meishel Woods, Kira Woods and Rebecka Woods; and siblings, Michael (Mike) Woods and Patrick (Pat) Woods. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel C Woods Sr., his mother, Dorothy Whalen, eldest sister Nicky Jones and elder sister Sandy Silver.
No arrangements are planned per Sam's wishes.
