On Monday, March 30, 2026, Duane Dunn, 53, departed for a long overdue and extended fly fishing trip. He passed around sunrise next to his love of almost 18 years, June. His transition was peaceful; the day before spent fly fishing and grilling in the backyard.
His big heart finally gave way, a life lived in full service to those he fiercely loved, protected and provided for. A celebration of life and barbecue will be held in the early summer.
Duane wished to be remembered by a gathering of loved ones and community sharing joy, stories and ridiculous amounts of church lady potluck style side dishes and barbecue. Even if you didn’t know Duane, he’d still want you to come and grab a plate … and take another one to go for later.
