Beloved youngest daughter of Dick Havig and Gene Havig, Debra was born in Powell, Wyoming on April 2, 1958. Debi joined them in heaven on Christmas morning, 2024, after a long illness. She passed quietly in her home in Mesa, Arizona, with her loving husband Rick Capps by her side.

Born on her Mom's birthday, Debi shared many of her qualities. A gifted athlete, she excelled in track and basketball at Powell High School, graduating in 1976.

She later played semi-pro softball, in Arizona. She never met someone she called a stranger, and was loved by family and many friends.

After moving to Arizona, Debi lived in Scottsdale, Tempe, Apache Junction and Mesa, then fell in love with an old friend, Rick Capps. They married on May 25, 2002. She spent most of her working career in human resources at Litton-Microsoft in Tempe.

Debi and Rick spent many happy hours with kids and grandkids camping and swimming in the family pool. The life of every party, she was fiery, loving, funny and beautiful inside and out. Her favorite saying was "I love you to the moon and back" and she rocked out to her favorite singers Billy Joel and Elton John.

Debi leaves behind her devoted husband Rick Capps, treasured dog Leo, stepdaughters Melissa Moron and Sarah Armstrong, 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and her older siblings Kandace Kae, Rich Havig, Dennis Havig and Dee Havig, also many nephews and nieces.

We all miss her and know she is finally at peace. A memorial celebration will be announced and held at a later date.
