Dean House

(Sept. 4, 1932 - Oct. 31. 2021)

Oh, we will miss Dean House, the guy you could hear enjoying life with a hearty laugh, especially after a little joke or story.  Dean suffered an aneurysm and was flown to Salt Lake City where he suffered another stoke and died at 89, on Oct. 31, 2021.

Dean was born September 4,1932, in a little house on the outskirts of Ralston, Wyoming. Dean met Helen Dingman at Moyers Cafe where she was working her way through college at what was then called Northwest Community College. They were married and Dean worked on several ranches and farms, including Jack Ando’s. Then he worked for Ohio Oil Company, and we moved to Grass Creek, Wyoming. But farming was in his blood so Jack found him land to buy. Dean and Helen farmed for nearly three decades. His cattle were his favorite project.

Dean enjoyed hunting and fishing so the freezer was always full. Having been employed by the Shoshone Irrigation District, he took an avid interest in water projects and served several terms on the Wyoming Water Development Commission in Cheyenne. He and Helen raised a son, Mike, and three daughters, Barbara, Virginia and Sue.

He loved to go four-wheeling and he enjoyed many days exploring with friends and Helen. He and Ral Hall built a shop, and Dean turned out many beautiful pieces of furniture and small items. Dean was a caring compassionate person, and loving husband. He often checked on those who needed a boost and called on his old friends. Dean loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dean is survived by his wife Helen, his brothers, Neal and Vern, his four children, his grandchildren,  and great-grandchildren.

Services for Dean will be held at Church of Jesus Christ on Avenue E, in Powell, on Nov. 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. To my husband I say “Well Done! Can you believe the 68 years we had? Love U!”
