The Powell Middle School boys’ track and field teams wrapped up the regular season with a successful trip to Lovell, as the seventh grade boys won the team title by 71 points and the eighth grade boys won by 49.

“The boys closed out the regular season with a strong showing, earning several personal records and qualifying marks for the Best of the Best meet,” coach Amanda Haney said. “The coaching staff believes this momentum will serve them well heading into the conference meet. The team has found its rhythm and a shared drive that’s both exciting and encouraging to witness.”

The Cubs now head down to Worland this Saturday for the final meet of the year for most of the athletes, the Yellowstone Conference meet.

“The boys plan to carry this momentum into the conference meet by staying focused on the fundamentals that brought them success,” Haney said. “Consistent effort, strong communication and trusting their training. The coaching staff emphasizes maintaining a positive mindset and building on the teams’ success. With their confidence growing and roles clearly defined, the team is aiming to compete with purpose and leave it all on the track.”

After the conference meet, those who have qualified for the Best of the Best will head to Lander on Tuesday for the final meet of the season.
