Celia C. Solis

Celia C. Solis was born in Powell, Wyoming, on July 16, 1958 to Eligio C. & Maurilia C. Solis. She died unexpectedly but peacefully April 19, 2025, surrounded by her family at the age of 66 following a tragic accident.

A graduate of Powell High School in 1976, she went on to become a LPN in 1982, an RN in 1993, and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2006.

She worked at Powell Valley Hospital for many years as a nurse, and recently worked as a pharmacy technician at Powell Drug and Albertsons.

She is survived by her soulmate Deborah Smith, her children Scott Smith (Becky) and Jamie Smith (David), her daughter Laurie Lee Leonhardt (Adrian), and six siblings: Luis Arturo Lupercia (Dora) of Moses Lake, Washington; Nora L. Garza (David of Petersburg, Texas; Elijio Solis, Jr. of Ralston, Wyoming; Leonel Solis of Denver, Colorado; Rosalinda Solis of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Silvia Bash (Jeff) of Billings, Montana and Jaime Solis of Ralston, Wyoming. She is also survived by her two godchildren Lorenzo Larrazola (Jill) of Chandler, Arizona, and Jessica Bash of Billings, Montana, with which she shared a special and pivotal bond, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents and three brothers.

A reception will be held in Powell at The Commons on Bent Street on Wednesday, 6:30-8:30 p.m., following a 5:30 p.m. rosary at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated for medical costs. There is an account set up at First Bank of Wyoming in Powell under Celia’s name.
