Dear editor:
The last year the federal budget was balanced was in 2001. That means to me that any politician, Democrat or Republician, who was in Washington, D.C., representing us PEOPLE need to own their share of adding to the federal deficit. It doesn’t matter which party is holding the cards. It happens to be Republicans now. I thought Republicans were fiscal conservatives, yet the Big Beautiful Bill is raising the debt ceiling yet again. How is adding $3.3 TRILLION to our country’s deficit Making America Great Again?
One of our Wyoming representatives said she was worried about the debt this country is handing to our grandchildren, yet all of our Wyoming representatives voted in favor of the Big Beautiful Bill and were willing to help pay for some of it by selling off some of our public lands. Thankfully that piece of the legislation was dropped.
I wish people would consider some of this next time they cast their vote.
