Anton “Tony” Archie Lehman, 61, of Powell, Wyoming, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 25, 2025, at his Heart Mountain home. Anton was born on Feb. 28, 1964, in Bloomington, Illinois, to John and Alice Lehman.
He married Shelly on June 5, 1982, and made their home in Buford, Georgia, where their three children, Daniel, Janese and Jed, were born. In 1992, he moved his family to Cody, Wyoming, to live out his cowboy dream.
While in Cody, he put his talent for woodworking to use building furniture at New West Furniture and working on stringed instruments. He also started helping friends on their ranches during calving season, working with horses and team penning. In addition to riding horses and working cattle, he was often found singing cowboy songs.
In 1999, Tony made Heart Mountain his home. He continued his love of woodworking at local cabinet shops, and as a master luthier he built his business to become his full-time job. During his life, Anton made a habit of showing appreciation to all those around him whether working at the landfill or the cashiers in the store.
Tony faithfully reminded his children and grandchildren to trust in God and live for Him. He was thankful for the mercy and grace of salvation that God gave him in his life and was a member of First Baptist Church of
Cody, Wyoming.
Anton was preceded in death by his dad John, his mom Alice, Dan and Dora Hedenberg, and his stepdad Ted Oesch.
He’s survived by his loving wife of over 42 years, Shelly; his children Daniel (Lisa), Janese, Jed (Alisa); his grandchildren: David, Jonathan, Hannah, Jackson, Julianna, Elizabella and Sarai with one more grandchild on the way; his stepmom, Ruth; his siblings Martha, John, Pam, Melissa, Don and Michael.
The Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church in Cody, Wyoming, on April 30, 2025 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with expenses, a GoFundMe has been set up.
