Dear editor:

A letter in the May 6 Tribune written by Phil Anthony definitely needs some rebuttal.

We wonder if Mr. Anthony has considered that those cases of measles were likely brought in by  the huge number of unvaccinated illegal immigrants? Yes, we have unvaccinated American citizens too who would be affected by those same illegals.

Our present Health and Human Services secretary, Robert Kennedy, Jr., is at least telling us what he is doing for this country. The previous secretary, Xavier Becerra, was rarely heard from.  Even his underling wasn’t heard from much. Transparency anyone?

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is doing his job which is to improve our military, so they are ready to fight. He is entitled to his mistakes. After all, Lloyd Austin, secretary of defense under Biden, just disappeared to have surgery, telling no one. With all the illegal immigrants in this country of fighting age fit for war, we need our military to be ready for anything.

And, as far as President Donald Trump or even Rep. Harriet Hageman, and the Constitution, how many times was the Constitution ignored or reinterpreted by former President Joe Biden and his followers? Rewriting the laws of the land is a Democrat thing. They tried very hard to make it happen too. They wanted to give all our freedoms to the illegals and take them away from true Americans.

Mr. Anthony says Trump won the 2024 election without a majority of the electorate. Trump won 312 Electoral College votes vs. Harris’  226. We call that a majority. Reminder, if you don’t win the Electoral College you don’t win the election. Trump won the popular vote with 77,168,458 while Harris won 74,749,891. That is also a majority. Close, but still a win.

As far as our economy, Biden started destroying lives on day one of his presidency.  He put an end to the Keystone Pipeline. He also opened our borders to murderers, rapists and traffickers of drugs and children (adults have been trafficked also but the most egregious is the children.) He ignored Americans who have been harmed by chemical spills, hurricanes and wildfires. Seven hundred dollars does nothing for those harmed by these disasters, but the thousands of illegals got free housing, food, medical care and cellphones. Under Biden, that is what our tax money has been used for.

It is very sad that all those who helped get Biden into office ignore the harm he has done to this country. Perhaps he should be in jail (along with Harris)  for aiding and abetting the crimes of the illegals and the BLM and anyone else who had taken advantage of the lax laws that meant only conservatives go to jail.

We are very thankful that Trump is now making the American citizen a priority. All those who want to see America Great Again must have patience. While Biden destroyed this country overnight Trump will take some time to get us back on our feet.

Mr. Anthony drinks the Kool-Aid offered up by legacy media. His “facts” seem to emanate from the likes of Chicken Noodle News, et al.
