We did it, we did it Joe, we — Joe?” … Welcome back to the land of the living, you America loving patriots. This is not a dream, not a drill. WE did it. We came out in droves: the “middle class American,” the bleeding heart of this wonderful country, the “uneducated,” the deplorable. Congratulations on the first step of making our country great again.
It has been a long four years. Years of persecution, inflation, censorship. Wars that could have been avoided, some resulting in our soldiers needlessly lost to the war machine; their names a whisper on the wind from their leader who refused to utter them. Billions spent on others rather than the American people. Women and children lost to an open border. Jobs and lives lost over a vaccination that should have never been forced on anyone. The mainstream media lying to our faces, purchased by the very government that has sworn to do our bidding as the American people see fit.
Our nation has grown weary. In the struggle of simply making it day by day, people have struggled to make ends meet, to live safely in their neighborhoods, to stay positive for a stronger future ahead. But Tuesday was a day for our voices to be heard. Droves of people came out to vote, standing in long lines for hours on end. We watched as the night slowly wore on, victory after victory in states they said couldn’t be won. A resurgence of American ideals at its finest.
For those who do not understand how this could have happened: Americans are not interested in being called racists, we are not interested in being told how to feel and what to do by those who are out of touch with reality. We are not interested in having our level of education thrown back at us over who we vote for. We want to own homes and be able to live comfortably. We don’t want to be involved in wars that will have our soldiers fighting when they shouldn’t be. We want healthy food and safe cities. We desire a unity that America has not felt for some time.
The question now will be whether we continue to let the outcome of this election further divide us. Already, the amount of hatred being spread online to those who voted for Donald Trump, or didn’t, runs rampant. Families cutting one another off over a Facebook post, friendships ending over a vote cast that’s nothing personal. You can put whoever you want in power, give authority to the left or the right, but ultimately if we as the American people cannot find some sort of common ground to stand on, we will be stuck repeating the same cycle every four years, letting this great nation slip by.
