Wyoming Game and Fish and local volunteers plan to remove unneeded fences in various states of disrepair in the Yellowtail Wildlife Habitat Management Area east of Lovell. The area is popular for hunting and other recreation and the fences pose a hazard to dogs, wildlife and visitors.
Fence removal is planned for Saturday, July 19. If you are interested in lending a hand, meet at the Yellowtail WMHA Headquarters at 8 a.m. Two skidsteers with wire winders will be employed. Volunteers are needed to pull staples so the wire can be spooled up. Volunteers should bring fencing pliers, hammer, safety gear including gloves, eye protection, long sleeve shirt, boots, water and snacks.
