CODY — They say the West was built on legends — now new stories are set to ride into town. The first annual Yellowstone Film Festival will be at Big Horn Cinemas from March 21 through March 27.
The Yellowstone Film Festival brings a global showcase of storytelling, art and imagination to the heart of the American West. Big Horn Cinemas will host selected films from both local and international filmmakers who dare to dream big, all while experiencing Cody’s small-town charm, rich history and breathtaking mountain views.
The inaugural festival highlights independent filmmaking and artistic diversity, featuring selections from over 500 submissions spanning the United States, India, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Brazil, Spain, Iran, China and more. Regional filmmakers from Wyoming, Idaho and Montana will also take center stage.
"My vision is to grow the festival into an event where people can enjoy independent films from all over the world, but also have the opportunity to learn the art of filmmaking,” said Jacob Graham, the festival director and founder.
The spotlight will land on competitive categories including Best Narrative Feature, Best Narrative Short, Best Documentary Feature, Best Animated Short and Best Local Feature. In truly Western fashion, the winner will receive a beautiful custom-made belt buckle, made exclusively for the festival in neighboring Montana.
