After 11 years, Westside Elementary School Principal Angie Woyak is bidding Powell farewell and returning to Wisconsin. 

“Serving as principal of the incredible Westside learning community has been one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences of my professional life,” Woyak said in a statement to the Tribune. “I have been inspired every day by the dedicated and compassionate staff, hardworking and curious students, supportive families, a skilled administrative team and visionary board.”

Woyak came to the district with 17 years of experience after working as a director of special education and school psychologist in Wisconsin. Woyak and her husband were drawn to the state, in part, after researching Wyoming education. 

“I honestly have never had the privilege of learning from and working alongside a team of educators who are driven to serve so selflessly in their focus on doing the right work day in and day out,” Woyak said.

She is grateful for the trust parents have placed in her, she added, and for the families who have supported Westside.

“Together, we are raising smart and kind young people in Powell, and I am incredibly proud of each and every one of them,” Woyak said. “It has been an honor and privilege to contribute to their learning and development these past 11 years. It goes without saying that the PCSD1 community is a special place and everyone within it will remain in my heart."
