William Raymond Calvert, born in Casper, Wyoming, on Aug. 14, 1956, passed away in Omaha, Nebraska, on May 19, 2023, at the age of 66.

Bill grew up in Powell, a place he cherished as home, but eventually moved to Norfolk, Nebraska, where he spent the last 20 years with his beloved children and grandchildren.

He had great passions, among them music — traveling across Europe to West Germany, Austria and England playing his baritone horn while in band at Powell High School and playing The Beatles and The Eagles on repeat. He loved woodworking and painting, which he was incredibly skilled at, hunting for arrowheads along riverbeds, and his greatest passion: watching lightning storms in his car from atop the biggest hills he could find! We know he is now enjoying lightning storms in heaven with Jesus.

Bill had an incredible sense of humor and infectious laughter and could find comedic moments in any situation, even through his many health issues.

Bill is survived by his three children, Andrew (Sam), Michael (Dana) and Nichole; his grandchildren, Jaden, Braylon, Xavien, Jack, Max and Tabi, and by his six brothers and sisters: Debbie (Lee) Spiker, John Calvert, Bruce Calvert, Mark (Laurie) Calvert, Cathy (Duane) Olson and Christie (Mike) Holzer. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Wallace Calvert, and his mother, Marcia Ann Calvert.

Bill always ended conversations, even over texts, with “love you, bye for now.” Those words we now say to him. We all love you Bill, bye for now!!

The family will be holding a private ceremony to spread his ashes.
