As next week is the last of July, the Park County Fair will be in full swing.

This year’s fair remains largely the same as in recent years, and attendees can expect 23 food vendors, carnival rides, free stage performances and some changes in the grandstands. After a year without pig wrestling due to supply issues, the event is once again returning to the grandstands, this time with a $5 admission. Pig wrestling will be at 7 p.m. at the Park County Fair on Tuesday with gates opening at 6 p.m.

After nine years Figure 8 Racing is also returning to the Park County Fair. The event is a form of stock car racing on an intersected track which increases the chance of cars hitting one another. Figure 8 Racing will be at 6 p.m. Friday with gates opening at 5 p.m. General seating costs $15 and box seating costs $20.

Stock dog trials will be coming to the Park County Fair for the first time. Registration has already been booked up for the event where owners can show off their stock dogs herding abilities. The event will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday with gates opening at 6 p.m. Admission to the event costs $8.

Also on the grandstand is the annual concert. This year’s headlining band is Tris Munsick and the Innocents, while former Powell resident Justin Baxter will be opening the concert. General seating costs $10 and box and floor seats $15. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m.

Grandstand events at the fair will close out at 6 p.m. on Saturday with the annual demolition derby. General seating costs $20 and box seats $25. Gates will open at 5 p.m.

Other notable events include the Park County Fair Parade at 10 a.m. Saturday on Bent Street and the Junior Livestock Sale at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Carnival rides will open at 6 p.m. on Tuesday and noon the rest of the week. The Pepsi free stage will begin performances at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, the rest of the week the stage will have performances beginning at noon.
