Wayne D. Erickson, 77, of Stevensville, Montana passed away from mesothelioma on Dec. 17, 2022.

Mary K (Uttenhove) Erickson, 72, of Stevensville, Montana passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Feb. 23, 2023.

Wayne and Mary K both grew up in South Dakota. They were married in Aberdeen, South Dakota on Aug. 19, 1967. They were blessed with three daughters, Kimberly, Heather and Sarah.

In 1971 they moved to Powell, Wyoming, where they raised their children. In 2005 they moved to Jena, Louisiana, where they lived for 10 years.

In 2015 they moved to Stevensville, Montana to be in the mountains they both loved and so they could be closer to their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Wayne spent most of his life doing the job he loved — drywall. He also served on the maintenance crew of the LaSalle Parish School Board and worked at Ace Hardware in Louisiana and Montana.

Mary K spent most of her children's younger years doing housekeeping for many Powell residents. She found her passion as a paraprofessional working mostly with special education students in Louisiana and Montana.

Wayne and Mary K are survived by their daughters: Kimberly Patterson of Helena, Montana; Heather (Shane) Olson of Stevensville, Montana; Sarah (Anthony) Sharp of Stevensville, Montana; seven grandchildren, Danielle, Saige, Ashlan, Audrey, Jordan, Sydney and Emily; and eight great-grandchildren.

Both Wayne and Mary K requested cremation with no funeral. The family will have a private memorial at a later date.

Our dad and mom were both wholly dedicated to their family and spent as much time as they could with their kids and grandkids. The memories made will be treasured. They are forever loved and dearly missed. We have no doubt they have been reunited and find comfort in the fact that they are together again.
