The Park County Travel Council is set to spend more than ever before for the upcoming fiscal year.
“This will be your guys biggest budget in the history of the travel council,” Executive Director Ryan Hauck said at the council’s June 19 monthly meeting. “Record year after record year has brought us to this budget we have now.”
The council will hold a public hearing at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) in the Park County Travel Council board room at 1306 Sheridan Ave. in Cody.
The fiscal year 2026 budget includes $4,463,527.75 in expenses and an estimated $4,133,720.14 in revenue including lodging tax receipts and co-op reimbursement.
The $329,807.61 deficit will be made up by balancing the budget from $5,707,929.77 in reserves, leaving the council with an estimated $5,378,122.16 remaining in reserves at the end of the fiscal year.
The unified marketing plan is, as usual, the bulk of the expense budget at $3,055,332, with unified administration costing $542,003.05 and grants $396,350.70, with smaller expenses taking up the rest.
Administration costs are expected to include a new executive director of the travel council within the next few months, as current executive director Ryan Hauck’s last day is Wednesday before he leaves to take over the top spot at a similar organization in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
