Following a season filled with ups and downs, the Powell High School boys’ soccer team had three players earn postseason nods, as seniors Trevon Abraham and Mikkel Klepp as well as sophomore Braxton Batt were all named 3A West All-Conference selections.
In a season that featured a prerogative on defense, two of the Panthers were recognized for playing a key part in that defensive shift.
Abraham served both as a full back and a center back for the Panthers, bringing a toughness to a back line that recorded several shutouts throughout the year including in key conference wins that helped the Panthers earn a return trip to the state tournament.
Alongside Abraham at times was Klepp, who primarily served as a midfielder but transitioned into the back line at times to help the Panthers shore up their defense. Klepp is an exchange student from Norway who attended Lovell High School.
Leading the front line for the Panthers throughout the year was Batt, who scored a number of key goals including several games with multiple goals to help the Panthers pull out victories.
He ended the year with 12 goals in the Panthers' 7-8 season.
Coach David Gilliatt said each player was worthy of their postseason honors, as the Panthers will look to take another step back towards contending next year.
