On July 23, Park County Search and Rescue volunteers were deployed to assist Cody Regional Health in accessing a 75-year-old male at the top of Rattlesnake Mountain. The male was experiencing a cardiac event and needed immediate medical assistance, according to a post from the group.

PCSAR members were able to determine the most appropriate and effective response to the patient’s location and initiated contact with Guardian 2 Flight Helicopter in Cody. A ground team from PCSAR was also sent in to assist if needed.

Guardian 2 deployed to the scene and transported the patient to Billings for medical treatment. The patient’s condition was unknown at the time of posting.

The same day, PCSAR members received notice of an SOS Satellite Device message indicating that a 72 year-old male had suffered a leg injury in the Hidden Creek area of the Thorofare. PCSAR members were able to determine the most appropriate and effective response to the patient’s location and initiated contact with Guardian Flight for extraction via helicopter.

Additional arrangements were made with a helicopter in Sublette County if needed. Guardian Flight was able to access the patient in the Thorofare and transported the male to Cody Regional Health for further treatment. His status was unknown at the time of posting.
