Registration for the third annual Run for Berry to Prevent Violence is open, and this year’s event is Saturday, Aug. 23 at 9 a.m.
One mile and 5K options are available, with the race beginning in the campus mall near the carillon. Proceeds go towards the scholarship endowment at Northwest College in Berry Bryant's name and resources to provide the community with educational materials. More information can be found at runforberry.com along with a link to register.
The registration fee prior to the day of the event is $20 for the 1-mile, and $25 for the 5K run. The prices increase to $25 and $30 on Aug. 23. There is no registration fee for Northwest College students, and children 10 and under may also participate free of charge. Preregister by Aug. 10 for a guaranteed swag bag and T-shirt.
Check-in is Friday, Aug. 22, between 4 and 6 p.m. at the Run for Berry table at Paint the Town Red, or Saturday before the race at Northwest College between 8 and 8:45 a.m.
The event is hosted by Soroptimist International of Powell, which strives to improve the lives of women and girls in the Powell community and beyond.
