Robert “Bob” Alan Kalt passed away on Sept. 12, 2024 at Spirit Mountain in Cody, Wyoming, surrounded by loving family and staff. He grew up in McIntire, Iowa, and went to college at the University of Iowa where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business.

Bob then moved to Minot, North Dakota, where he met the love of his life Diana. It was love at first sight and they were married after nine months of dating. The wedding was only pushed out that far so his love could finish her nursing degree. Their adventure began and they traveled across the United States, as his expertise was turning troubled stores into profitable ones. Soon their joy multiplied and before they knew it they had five beautiful children together. The adventure was far from over and after many years they found themselves in Montana.

Bob had an entrepreneurial spirit and there he finally achieved his dream of owning his own store. The joy grew as two more children followed. With his big family in tow, he spent his free time in the mountains watching the sunrise, spotting wildlife and climbing the hills. He spent his days with one main goal in mind, to make people laugh and brighten their day.

Bob was a jovial family man first, but he was quite the outdoorsman as well. His kids grew up in the outdoors fishing, hunting and sharing stories at night in the family cabin. He achieved many things in life including 63 years as a devoted husband and family man, 25 years as a successful independent businessman, and his legacy continues with his children and their families. He is survived by his wife Diana, his children Michael, Tony, Robert, Theresa, Alan, Aaron, Angelena, and an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A rosary vigil will be held on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. in St. Barbara’s Catholic Church and the celebration of life will be on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m., also at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Knights of Columbus.
