The organization Northwest Wyoming Realtors 4 Kids is putting on its annual carnival and school supplies giveaway event Wednesday at Washington Park.
The event is 4:30-6:30 p.m. and, as usual, will include games, activities and prizes courtesy of a variety of local businesses which set up booths around the park, as well as free school supplies. Organizer Christi Davis said this year they plan to have the school supplies pre-packaged and handed out from a trailer to make that part smoother.
The free event is open to all Big Horn Basin kids and their families.
“Last year was an awesome turnout and I’m hoping we get the same this year,” she said, adding, “Come out and have a good time.”
Legend Pizza will again be on hand with food, which is also free, although donations will be accepted.
Realtors 4 Kids is a community-driven organization committed to improving the lives of local children by providing critical financial support and opportunities for growth and participation; 100% of donated funds go directly to the children of Park and Big Horn counties.
In addition to the carnival, the organization assists children who:
• Are victims of abuse, neglect or abandonment;
• Face temporary or ongoing medical challenges that create financial strain beyond what their primary caregivers can provide;
• Wish to participate in school or community programs but lack the necessary funds;
• Seek financial support for advancement in academic or social programs.
Assistance is available to children who are residents of Park County or Big Horn County and are 18 years of age or younger.
