The Park County School District 6 Transportation Department recently hit a significant milestone — the successful graduation of its first student with a commercial driver’s license (CDL). Park 6 student McCoy Banks officially earned his Class “B” CDL last spring after passing all required examinations, positioning him to take advantage of a wide range of employment opportunities in the Cody area and beyond.
The program is part of the Park 6 Classroom 2 Careers Initiative, which integrates real-world skills and career exploration into everyday instruction in classrooms from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Gov. Mark Gordon’s RIDE (Reimagining and Innovating the Delivery of Education) initiative further supports career exploration and skill-building across Wyoming.
“We are incredibly proud of McCoy and all he has accomplished,” said Jim Perhinger, director of transportation. “This is just the beginning, and we look forward to seeing many more students take advantage of the opportunities our CDL program offers.”
