The Panthers’ recent skid on the tennis courts continued on Friday with the boys’ and girls’ teams dropping home matches to Sheridan and Jackson.
Against Sheridan, Powell failed to win a match on the boys’ or girls’ side.
Only two of the boys’ matches went to three sets (No. 2 singles with Aiden Chandler and No. 1 doubles with Logan Brown and Kolt Flores). And the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles pairings (Sophe Morrow and Sydnee Thompson; Whitney Hull and Chase Anderson) were the only girls’ matches that went to three sets.
PHS followed these 5-0 defeats with 4-1 losses against Jackson.
Chandler earned a win at No. 2 doubles while Morrow and Thompson, at No. 1 doubles, earned the Lady Panthers’ lone point.
Following the 0-2 weekend, both teams are 2-5 overall. The Panthers will look to bounce back this week against Cody (heading across the county for a 3 p.m. Thursday match) and Rawlins, then hosting the Outlaws at 1 p.m. Saturday for the final home contest of the year.
