Fans looking forward to a rivalry game between Powell and Cody will have to wait a little bit longer, as Friday’s Panthers versus Broncs boys’ basketball games were postponed until after winter break.
Powell High School athletic director Scott McKenzie said the game was delayed after Cody was unable to field a team due to cases of influenza.
The junior varsity and varsity games will now be played on Thursday, Jan. 6, at Powell High School. The JV game will be played at 4 p.m. with the varsity game to follow at 5:30 p.m.
The Panthers are off to a 1-2 start after the East/West Classic in Buffalo on Dec. 10 and 11, with losses to Rawlins and Buffalo and a win over Big Horn.
Powell will take a break over the next couple of weeks before the Jan. 6 contest and another contest two days later, on Saturday, Jan. 8 against Rocky Mountain.
