Octavio (Tavo) Alaniz recently passed away Oct. 15, 2023 in Powell, Wyoming. He was born Feb. 1, 1935 in LaGrulla, Texas to Eustacio Alaniz and Catarina Chapa.
He was married to Irma Carrizales on Oct. 26, 1959 in Billings, Montana and lived and farmed in Powell. He attended St. Barbara’s Catholic Church and loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Octavio also enjoyed the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his wife Irma Alaniz.
He is survived by daughter Susana Snyder, her daughter Mellody Paniagua, her children Kobee, Gavin and Nathaniel; daughter Ida Bowers (Jon), their daughter Tawny Hall (Michael) and their children Jaxon and Amelia, their son Jakob Bowers; daughter Cathy Florian (Antonio) and their daughters Shayna and Daisy.
A rosary was recited Tuesday, Oct. 17 with Father James Schumacher officiating.
