Metaphysical health expo to have over 30 vendors

Posted

Responding to a growing demand for alternative health practices, the Big Horn Basin Metaphysical and Wellness Expo will feature 34 vendors who will be demonstrating and presenting on their services Friday and Saturday, March 7-8, at the Park County Fairgrounds.

“Through our own practices and businesses, we're seeing that people are now really interested in looking for support,” said Emily Hart, one of the event organizers and director of the Coalition of Healers. “They are more interested in looking at alternative forms of support, whatever that means for them.”

The expo is a collaboration between Hart and Tara Johnson in Lovell, who run a lot of craft fairs, Hart explained, and wanted to see what the basin had to offer and needed 12 vendors in order to make the event work.

Instead, they were able to find nearly three times that amount. There will be 33 Big Horn Basin area vendors, plus Marcia Colver from Billings who regularly does Powell events. Local food truck The Rolling Stove will be selling food at the event and Black Orchid Tattoos will be offering its services.

“It's going to be set up like a traditional craft fair, so everyone has their own booth location. We have some vendors who are doing, like, IV infusions for vitamins and different things, and so they're kind of anyone that's practicing or creating a service at the expo, we kind of gave them a little bit more space so people could feel like they had a little bit more privacy, but everyone just has their own booth,” Hart said.

Other vendors offering “mini sessions” include massage therapists, coaching and hypnosis (there are two clinical hypnotists, both out of Lovell.)

Friday will kick off at 5 p.m. and go until 8 p.m. Saturday starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m.

While admission is free, attendees are encouraged to donate to Crisis Intervention which will also enter attendees into a raffle for one of two baskets that includes items from various vendors.

“March is women's month, and so we really wanted to pick a service that was going to focus kind of on that theme. And of course, [Crisis Intervention] does such an amazing job for our community that we want to support them any way we can,” Hart said. “So we really want to show people that this is completely community based, and we are here to support our communities.”
