Kenneth Buchli, cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on Sept. 16, 2026, after valiantly battling cancer for 20 years. He was born on Dec. 30, 1944, in Powell, Wyoming.

Kenneth lived an extraordinary life marked by love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community. Ken was the beloved son of Walter C. and Opal Buchli. He was preceded in death by his parents, his devoted wife of 60 years, Audrey, his sisters Linda Hoffmann and Marsha Ankrom, and his best friend Jake Jacobs. He also joins in rest many nieces and nephews. His legacy continues through his daughter, Amy Frye, and her husband Brad, his grandchildren, Jennifer Buchli and Christopher Greever, and his great-grandchildren Carson Mauch, Mariah Mauch, Addison Ray, and Kashden Buchli. Ken is also survived by his siblings, Carroll Buchli, Ronald Buchli, and his wife Joan, and Calvin Buchli and his wife Margret.

Among his close friends, Tye and Tammi Henderson shared many treasured moments with him. Ken’s life was a testament to hard work and passion. His career began with Mel Hawley Plumbing as a plumber apprentice. His path then led him to the Park County Road and Bridge, where he developed a deep affection for heavy equipment. This passion found its true home at the Willwood Irrigation District, where he spent 22 fulfilling years maintaining the land of his childhood, ensuring the ditches and dams were clear and functional. He retired in 2006, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and expertise.

A proud veteran, Ken served with honor in the Wyoming National Guard for six years, during which his unit remained stateside during the Vietnam War. His service was a reflection of his deep commitment to his country and community. Ken was known for his infectious laughter, striking green eyes, and the warmest of embraces. He was a man of integrity and diligence, imparting his love for fishing and heavy equipment. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his love of fishing, whether casting a line from the shore, ice, or his boat on Buffalo Bill or Upper Sunshine. Camping and gardening were also among his favorite pastimes, allowing him to enjoy the company of family and friends in the great outdoors. In lieu of services, as per Ken’s wishes, the family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Angela Redder and the staff at One Health in Powell, as well as to Stillwater Hospice for their compassionate care. They also extend thanks to Thompson Funeral Home for their support during this time.

In honor of Ken’s spirit and his dedication to helping others, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to his heart. Ken Buchli’s life was a shining example of love, resilience, and devotion. He will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his memory be a blessing and his spirit continue to guide those he loved.
